National Preparedness Month
9.8.2024
September is National Preparedness Month. While preparedness is an ongoing process, we are reminded in September to put extra emphasis on preparation for disasters. Assess your risks (snow storms, hurricanes, floods, etc.). Make a plan dealing with all hazard emergencies (what supplies you will need for all family members/pets to shelter in place for at least 3 days if needed, what will you need if you need to evacuate, who will you need to contact in emergencies, where will you go if you need to leave home, etc.). Gather supplies/pack “go bags” if you need to evacuate quickly. Reassess your plan periodically. You don’t have to do everything at once and you do not need to reinvent the wheel. There are resources available to help with your planning. We are here to help. Start today to prepare!
