Water Safety - prevent a tragedy
6.12.2024
During the summer our thoughts turn to keeping cool and often our means for attaining this end involves water. Here are some water safety tips to keep in mind to help avoid tragedy this season:
1. Never leave a young child unattended in a bath tub or wading pool even for a minute.
2. Remind older children to swim with at least one other person in attendance.
3. Do not dive into water of an unknown depth.
4. If you own a pool, be sure it is properly fenced so that a wayward toddler or older child will not decide on an unsupervised dip, or accidentally fall in. The same is true for hot tubs and spas.
5. Instruct older children in the danger of water and electricty combined.
6. Provide swimming lessons for your children.
7. Don't combine alcohol with swimming or boating.
