Tina Rickenback is recognized, yet again!
9.2.2024
In June one of our APRNs, Tina Rickenback, was given The Elyse S. Borsuk Pediatric Nurse Practitioner -Primary Care 2024 Preceptor Award, by the Yale School of Nursing. This was in recognition of her dedication, support, and commitment to teaching the next generation of nurse practitioners. We at Wildwood Pediatrics are please to help prepare practitioners to care for the needs of all children.
In 2014, we were proud to announce that Tina was recently selected as the 2014 PNP of the Year for the Connecticut chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). She is also the Clinical Practice Chair for NAPNAP at the national level.
Our PNP's are registered nurses who have received additional, specialized training. They all have Masters of Science in Nursing graduate degrees, as well as certification as Advanced Pediatric Registered Nurses (A.P.R.N.). This means that they have successfully completed advanced courses and earned prescriptive authority (can sign their own prescriptions). Our PNP's work collaboratively with the physicians in caring for all of our patient's needs, and are available for annual and well child health assessments, as well as acute illnesses, and consultative appointments for behavioral and emotional concerns.
